Objectives

General Objectives

To assist children with chronic illnesses or disabilities (either hospitalized or receiving care on a walk-in basis) to receive educational and recreational services that promote their physical, intellectual and emotional development regardless of their socio-economic standing.

Specific Objectives

To provide hospital-based educational services according to the needs of the target population.
To promote successful re-assimilation of the patient at school upon conclusion of his treatment.
To promote the mental well being of the patient via individual and group interactions as a means of achieving emotional development.
To promote activities (in conjunction with the parents) as a way of achieving an atmosphere of mutual trust and cooperation.
To develop a curriculum for hospital-based-education within institutions of higher learning.
