How can I help the Programme as a teaching assistant or volunteer?
We have Teacher Aides who go to a classroom once a week and other outside volunteers who help us from their home or office with various activities. Go to the Volunteer section of our website and follow directions.
 
Can a patient’s relative join the Programme as a volunteer?
Yes, they can be a volunteer. Only in cases where the loss of a close relative occurred (father, mother, sibling or child), we request a year s wait.
 
Is it necessary to be a teacher to participate as a volunteer?
No, any person of legal age with dedication to serve can be a volunteer. Each shift has a coordinator who directs and supervises the work of the shift s teacher aides. In addition, each classroom has a psychologist who helps the volunteers with their work. It is a requirement that the person have the time availability to attend the classroom chosen for a once a week shift.
 
I can help in any way from my home or office?
Yes, we have support volunteers who help from their home or office with the distribution and sale of items for our Christmas campaign, preparing materials for handicrafts, and organizing specific activities with the children like trips, shows, performances, etc.
 
Do they get male volunteers?
Yes, our program has volunteers of both genders and all faiths.
 
Aside from cash donations, what other types of donations they receive?
We accept all kinds of educational materials, books, school supplies, educational toys, A4 bond paper for photocopying, kids clothing, magazines for parents, etc.
